CES 2011: LG Optimus 2X Specs Updated

LG-Optimus-Speed-2X

Remember that LG phone that beat the iPhone in a video a little while back? It's the Optimus 2X, the very first phone sporting a dual-core processor, running on Android 2.2, with an update to 2.3 promised soon.

The video showed a comparison of the Optimus 2X, the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S as they loaded and handled the youtube video app. The results where clear. The Optimus outstripped both the Galaxy S and the iPhone, and not by a small margin either.

Not only is the Optimus 2X bloody fast, it's also packed with HDMI, DLNA, 1080p video recording and stunning graphics. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that it is from LG, who are fairly new to the Android game.  Let's hope they can keep up with updates for their handsets, and not go the way Samsung has.

Check out the full press release after the break.

STANMORE, ENGLAND, January 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Do not mistake this for something from the sci-fi motion picture Transformers, LG Optimus 2X is par excellence of possibly any existing mobile wonders in the real world today as it is equipped with a technology that pioneers the smart phone arena. LG Optimus 2X has already created a lot of buzz lately as the first ever phone incorporated with speedy 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core chipset.

With an amazingly packed multimedia features this mobile phone sets apart all smart phones standards in speed of access and power of efficient multitasking. The graphics on the phone are impressive and some of the major features include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera that allows recording a 1080p video which can be enjoyed on a big screen using the handset's HDMI and DLNA connectivity.

The LG Optimus 2X mobile phone sports the Android 2.2 OS which soon is expected to be upgraded to the Android 2.3 version. The mobile phone is to be launched in Korea in January 2011 followed by the rest of Asia and Europe. The exceptional graphics performance and HDMI mirroring technology is something to look forward to. The dual-core makes it possible to view multimedia applications with the ease that was never experienced before from the currently reigning smart phones in the market.

Heavily equipped with top notch technology, the LG Optimus 2X phone essentially has a larger 4 inch WVGA screen and a built-in 8GB memory and 32GB expandable memory. Moreover, two types of screens can be found on the LG Optimus 2X where one is the familiar Android home screen and the other is a built-in LG home screen.

So watch out for the first ever Android phone with dual-core processor to be introduced at the onset of 2011.
